Heading South

On the 9th, grabbed a flight to Christchurch and then onto Invercargill, the world's most southern city.  Now, remember, this is like our February so look at the pictures to see the beautiful sites I saw from the plane.  It was not extremely cold in the coastal areas, as NZ's climate on the coast is moderated by the Southern Sea.  But, I can tell you that the shorts and t-shirts are packed at the bottom of my suit case.  Enjoy the scenery!

    1. Ava, so how hot is it up there now? I only have two more days of winter before I head home. I think I will be in shock when I get off the plane in jeans and a jacket. Wish I could bring some of the snow with me :-)

    2. It's actually not too bad here. A little muggy, but it's summer, so...

The sun is brutal, though. Don't go outside with out sunscreen!

    1. Thanks Maggie. I love cold weather so I was happy to be there in August during the HOT time of the year in Midlo! And, it really wasn't too cold, most days were in the 50's - 60's. Only in the big mountains did it get chilly.
